Your job and your week

Goal
Know the five parts of your job and how your two hours a week are spent.
Whole lesson
About 6 minutes
Before you start
Nothing. Start here.
  1. Your students study their courses online. Your job is to help them start, keep going and finish.

  2. The job has five parts: get your students started, help them learn, check the platform once a week, write a short report every two weeks, and follow the rules that keep students safe.

  3. All of it fits into about two hours a week. About 15 minutes go to the platform. Most of the rest goes to your students, in class or by message. That choice is yours.

  4. A good week: on your check day, see who needs help and write their names down. Then talk to those students. Every second week, send a short report.

  5. Know what your students study: their course, its lessons and tests, and when they need to finish. Then you can explain what the course is for and what they will be able to do.

  6. This course has twelve short lessons in four parts: your role, the platform, supporting students and your routine. Each lesson has a video, a reading and a quick check.

  7. You need a computer, and the username and password of your teacher account.

  8. If something does not work, try to fix it first. If you cannot, write to support (support@gsed.ch) or to your coordinator.

You're done when you can name the five parts of your job and say how your two hours are spent.

Do I have to talk to students in class?

No. In class or by message on the platform: the choice is yours.
